UPDATE: 10/16/2019
It sure has been difficult to figure out how to implement even this sad (not fully functioning) dialogue system.
Unity has a package that you can purchase with a node system, but that's a little too pricey for me. I am hoping to be able to use this as a place holder to show an idea of what I want the end product to look like. Eventually, I would like to create my own fully functioning node system.
For now, I have some dialogue running when the user double clicks (still working on figuring out why the pop-up doesn't activate on the first click.. we will get there) on the fridge and one of the bookshelves in the study.
The style of text showing up will not be the final product, but I did think it was cool! The 'next' button only shows up when the sentence(s) is fully typed out. The 'back' button is acting as a placeholder for the 'skip' asset, which will allow the player to skip through all of the dialog.
They only have place holder text until I get the entire scene up and running with colliders and all of the assets I want the starting level to include.
Anyways, not too much of an update but as personal progress.. this is a LOT!!
